The "Go Girls Club" First Meeting

Today we had our first Go Girls club meeting. It was really fun and we did one art project. We sat down and we talked about ADHD and I kept on asking about candy! I felt really cool to meet other girls with ADHD and everyone got a candy bag with a book about ADHD for kids, pencils, two little horses, nerds and bubble gum. I feel a lot more confident in my ADHD because now I know other girls who have ADHD and because I know that I'm not the only girl with ADHD.

We laughed a lot!

Go Girls Club

Join the Go Girls Club for girls with AD/HD and ADD. For more information, go to the chad website....www.chadd.net/249

This is your chance to meet other girls with AD/HD and ADD from 1st grade to 6th grade.

I think we should also have a place on the computer where we could talk to other girls with ad/hd, when the club is not meeting. It should be special just for girls with AD/HD and ADD.

My mom put out flyer on my blog.

Comment on Time and Words and Feelings

Gina from CA commented:

Mia--Brilliantly put!I know many adults with ADHD who would completely agree with you. You have put into words what many of them feel, but don't always know how to put into words.Great blog, kiddo!

Keep writing!
Gina

Mia replied:

Gina, if you have trouble putting things into words then you don't even have to put it into words. You can draw it or you make a comic book about it or sometimes you know what you are needing and you know what it is, but you can't explain it. You just have a find a way that you can talk about it or put down on paper. Because once somebody can understand how you are feeling then they can help you or they will just be able to talk about it with you. But anyway, it is better than keeping it inside.

Sincerely,
Mia

Comment on Time

Lea from WV commented:
I think this is a good observation! I know that my daughter (a 16 year old girl with ADHD) struggles with time herself. And, she is always telling me "one more minute, Mom!" But, her one more minute takes a half hour or longer!

Mia replied:

lea:I think that you should buy a timer or somthing like that and when she says "one more minute" you say I'm seting the timer for 5 min. so when the tmimer goes of and she says but it's only bii min. you say the timer went off she can't argue becuse she asked and got what she wanted and she should be happy she even got 5 min. more and it will come in handy if you said bed time in 1 hour and an hour passed she says but it's only bin 10 min. you say i set the timer for 1 hour and it went off and you wiil have prof and she will have to go to bed or stop what she is doing and you wont have to say it's bin half an hours

sincerly

Time with ADHD

Sometime with grownups or kids with AD/HD or ADD time goes by very fast and very slow. Like when you are on the computer or doing something, time goes by very, very fast. For example, say I was on the computer and my brother was waiting to get on and each of us was only allowed to be on for 15 minutes. Sometimes, the just loos track of time and then my brother might sat you've been on 20 minutes and you are only supposed to be on for twenty minutes, but I would say I just got on because for me it felt like two minutes.

This is also a problem when my mom is on the phone. Once she told me she had only been on the phone for 2 minutes and to me I felt like she had been on for an hour. So for me the time was slow and for my mom the time was fast.

I think our mornings problems are about time, too. We kids feel like we have so much time, but then it is time for the bus. We say, but mom we just woke up and then mom will tell us we have been up an hour and a half, but to us it felt like 20 minutes and we were rushed. In my opinion and I think alot of other kids with adhd have opinion is too, is that they hate to be rushed.I don't know why, but it makes me feel like I have two minutes to do everything and that is a bad feeling.

Dr. S

My therapist actually has ADD (I don't know which one he has but he seems pretty calm to me, so he seems most likely to have ADD) which is good for me because he can give us tips on add and adhd and he know what I'm talking about and he understands.

Times table

This is how I feel about multiplication. It is hard for me to memorize my multiplication. This makes me feel bad because it is harder for me to memorize it than the other kids. Because that the other kids have less trouble, I feel really sad because I would rather be able to memorize it better like the other kids. Kids who have Add or ADHD have trouble memorizing times and division. Younger kids have problems memorizing + and -. Right now I am focusing on multiplication. I think they should have an accommodation like extra time , like two minutes extra. Then once they get used to a test with having a couple of extra minutes, then you take like one minute away. Because after a while you will get used to seeing that question and writing down the right answer and then you will feel more comfortable. Then once my teacher realizes that I am getting it done, she could take away one of minutes without even telling me.

Fight

Guess What Last Night Me And Mom Had a Fight at first it was about me being in the tub too long then it was about me geting a good night sleep. After that when she left the room I started mumbling things and she overheard them Then she came back then and said it was all her fault and I wanted to say who was right and who was wrong, but I didn't.

HHi it's my again and I have great news for you if you have AD/HD because...
Me and my mom are doing a club for people with AD/HD and even better it's free but if you have the kind of parents who are always busy since me and my mom have a mini van we're going to use it as a bus. And if you want to join just e-mail me at zigmia@comcast.net or you can wait till we send out papers to the township school's. But don't get to excited because we are still getting ready for the club. If you get your parents permission you can join now but you must have ADD or ADHD and if you have it your parent's should know here is some information
you can find the website at CHADD. What we are going to do in the club is talk about having AD/HD and we will have a lot of fun if you have a hard time sitting in a chair don't worry because my brothers have ADHD SO WE KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THAT WELL THAT'S IT FOR NOW.

About me.

Hi my name is Mia and and I'm 8 years old. I've had ADD for all my life now I'm going to give you some advice on ADD

  1. Don't feel bad about having ADD it's just who you are and you're just fine how you are.
  2. If you have trouble taking your pill just try taking it with something thicker.
  3. Don't get into a fight in the morning so you don't take your pill because it actually goes down like butter on toast.
  4. Having ADD is just fine.

Well that is my advice
